FREE VOLUNTEER IN TANZANIA
Our mission is to live a life of service to others.
Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa which has plenty of attractions to satisfy and inspire travelers. For those who love the sun and sand, Tanzania offers up the white sand beaches of Zanzibar. Trekkers can stand on top of the “roof of Africa” after the long climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro or go on safari infamous and expansive national parks and conservation areas.
While Tanzania is one of Africa’s most politically stable countries, an extreme poverty (Ranked 151 on the Human Development Index and more than a third of households here get by on less than $1.9 a day), lack of educational resources, and the persistence of the HIV/AIDS epidemic continue to take their toll on the Tanzanian people. Maternal and neonatal mortality rates are high, and only around four in ten children finish their secondary education.
Tanzania offers a variety of opportunities in many different sectors for the passionate volunteer. Whether you already have training in a particular field or would like to gain experience, there are many established Non-government organizations and non-profits operating in Tanzania that would gladly take your passion and support. Whichever program you choose, Tanzania’s wildlife, cultural diversity, and rich Tanzania history will not disappoint.
What I like to do with my life is to help our community. Working for children, vulnerable people and families is something I admire the most. Helping people overcomes obstacles and difficulties making the most of them are very rewarding to me yet challenging. I hope for a world where no one will suffer. For others contribution combined with mine is enough to change the world. I love inspiring people.Ralph Hoffmann
Our main focus is our whole community whether it is elders’ people homes, orphanage homes or disables. These are the most of marginalized groups in the society, groups that have greater challenges. Volunteer/Tourists will have a chance to visit local schools to see local student’s daily life and homes.
We don’t intend to supplement their need but wants to join hands with the government to widen the tourism to reach all in Tanzania. We want to bring volunteers/tourist to these groups, to enjoy their lives and share their difficulties and learn from them. You will get the opportunity to help their needs directly on sites whenever possible. You can give things like clothes, food, education aids, hearing and or walking aids to people with disabilities, sports equipment etc.
You will gain the experience of seeing not only the tourism attractions of Tanzania but also will get an opportunity to adventure the real life of marginalized people. Desire Safaris will make sure if there would be beneficiaries from this tourism, all the aids reach the targeted people.
